Stimuler le langage avec la musique: Étudier les forces et les limites de l’amorçage rythmique / Stimulating language with music: Studying the strengths and limits of rhythmic priming
Rhythm is a core predictive element in both music and speech, allowing for facilitated processing of upcoming, predicted elements. Research shows listening to regular music rhythm can improve the processing of speech, highlighting a promising link between the two. Using the rhythmic priming paradigm, this project investigates the strengths and limitations of this effect across English and French, focusing on how attention, temporal delays, and individual differences shape its impact. The goal of this research is to define the optimal conditions to use rhythmic stimulation to benefit children with typical development and with neurodevelopmental language disorders.
